Go into your new job with confidence. If you show you doubt yourself, others will doubt you too. You got the job for a reason, now take the time to understand your team & processes, and then put an action plan together. People want to see that their boss is in control so take the lead respectfully but enthusiastically. People don't respect egos, they respect a good work ethic, a boss who works to support them and help them succeed, someone who is knowledgeable and brings information, resources and positive improvements to the team. If you focus on these things, you will earn their respect....if you always work to improve on these things, you will maintain their respect over the long run.
