I have been very fortunate in my career to have mentors along the way. Women have to deal with a lot situations that seem unfair, aggravating and unnecessary. It is difficult to discuss these issues with those you work with because you don't want to be seen as, well, a woman...so you keep it inside and it drives you crazy. When you have mentors outside of your day-to-day work you can bounce ideas off of them and come to the realization that you are not crazy. Your mentors should be both men and women so you can get both perspectives.
